Halloween and the Imagination

(The title of this blog might confuse you, so I will explain.)

I've been thinking a lot lately, "What is wrong with the universe?".
Seriously, we as human beings were gifted with such amazing minds. We have the ability to create, imagine and dream up these incredible stories and ideas such as movies, books, television shows, and videos.
Disney is a perfect example. Disney has created hundreds of movies for children, and I still love them. I remember wanting so badly to be Aurora from Sleeping Beauty.
Did my wish ever come true?...

No.

Which brings me to my point. Why on earth were we given the ability to create these things, and none of it is allowed to be real? Take something simple like Santa Claus. Santa is not real. If you're reading this, then I'm sure you're old enough now to have figured that out.
(If I just spoiled Christmas for you, I apologize. Now you know how I feel.)
Seriously though, how is that fair?
You mean I am actually allowed to come up with another world where fairies and unicorns exist, but I can't actually go to it?
I just want to know what God was thinking when he decided to give us only half of the equation.
Entertainment we purchase from Best Buy and Barnes & Noble is as close as we are allowed to get to our own amazing creations.
How sick is that?
Of course I understand that without this entertainment, life would be rather boring.
But come on, magic is something everyone should be allowed to experience, even if only once.

And Halloween, isn't helping. Sure, it's one of my favorite holidays. Yes, I certainly do participate. Because, what else am I supposed to do?
For one day every year, we get to disguise ourselves and pretend we are someone or something else.
We get to escape reality for a full night.
But it isn't really escaping anything, is it?
No.
Maybe that same night, you go home. You wipe off your makeup and shower away the disguise because you still have to wake up early the next morning and go back to work
in a reality where magic and fairytales don't exist. They are only dreamed of.

And everyone wonders why we spend so much time in front of the television and computer.
TO ESCAPE. (As much as possible, anyway.)

And it angers me to no end.
I want to go to Narnia. Is that ever going to happen?
Nope.
Because there is no portal to Narnia.
There is not a talking lion (with the popularity of Jesus) that has a voice like Liam Neeson.
There are no Beavers that have British accents...

And so I return to my normal thought process.
Goodnight, everyone.
